The Paris Traveler: Luc Grateau

On your next visit to Paris, take a turn on the tube (public subway). You may encounter artist, Luc Grateau, or maybe it will be the other way around. While others read books, Grateau creates masterful pieces of art on an odd little canvas known as the metro ticket.
In 2004 on his daily commute along lines 10 and 12, Luc began to find his muse of the day, and in compliance with the métro’s “rules of discretion”, quietly and unobtrusively went about the task of capturing a moment–"I go for something that poses a challenge for me, a hat, a scarf, a particular color or texture". Currently, he is unclear what he plans to do with these portraits, but a quick trip to his website will leave you amazed as you go through and pick your favorites.
