The Knockout: Gloves by Miss Numa

In my quest to find all things stylishly sexy, I discovered the creations of Ms. Numa Perrier last year on MySpace. I never think much of gloves (since Houston never gets cold enough for them), so I purchase them out of necessity for my travels to the East Coast. Yet Numa's pieces are the supreme style stabilizer for the most sophisticated hands and finger tips, and these couture darlings are must have in any season. With ambitions to Glove Up the First Lady, Numa has stand out style that will capture your attention with each new collection. This week I was able to catch up with the busy Renaissance woman (Numa is a Photo Flash Photography Phenom!) for some quick Q&A. Check it out!

EVO Ray: What is the message you’d like your supporters to associate most with
your brand?
Numa P: Miss Numa stands for the bold creative female. Miss Numa also stands for touching others. Glove is synonymous with love.
EVO Ray: Describe your earliest moment of Over-achievement:
Numa P: I have been an entrepreneur since I've been able to count change. In the 3rd grade I started a poetry business where I would write poems on any topic for my classmates and they would be me 2cents a line. the average poem was 8 lines and consisted of nice things boys wanted to say to their moms for mothers day and that sort of thing. I made enough money to buy forbidden ice creams after school and that was the start of my "over-achievements"
EVO Ray: Name a food or drink that you seemed to have on standby in your moments
of inspiration:
Numa P: I am often inspired when waking from a nap or taking a shower...hardly ever any food or drink around! water?
EVO Ray: If you weren’t pursuing your current career what would you be doing?
Numa P: My career consists of several forms of art including acting fotography filmmaking and of course fashion. so i already have a lot of variety in my work which i love...it's very exciting. but if i had to take all of those elements out of the picture i would work as a physical therapist. i believe in rehabilitation.
EVO Ray: At a party, which of the following would you most likely do upon your
arrival?
a. Headed to the Bar
b. Posted up People Watching
c. Doing a Mean Two Step on the Dance Floor
d. Making Your Rounds to See and Be Seen
Numa P: Ah- i am not sure. the older i get the more social anxiety i get so probably headed to the bar first and then making my way into the crowd. i do like making grand entrances though :)
EVO Ray: When you aren’t working, what/where/who helps you to relax?
Numa P: Watching "house" or "the addams family" (the tv show) on dvd takes my mind off of chaos.
EVO Ray: Will you ever retire?
Numa P: No no no. i want to be like betsey johnson and louise bourgeoise and ruby dee working well into my latter years at the top of the game.
EVO Ray: What would you like to see happen with your brand over the next 90
days?
Numa P: I want Michelle Obama wearing my gloves this fall. I am designing special styles inspired by her magnificent self. Also would like to see the girls and Barack being my glovers.
EVO Ray: Who’s rotating in your IPOD right now?
Numa P: Peter Hadar, J Davey and Tha Dogg Pound and Portishead.
